Landlord incentives are available to provide housing for homeless families, homeless Veterans, and families at-risk of homelessness.

The Landlord Incentive Program is designed to encourage landlords to lease their residential property to households that are homeless or at risk of being homeless through the Housing Authority’s Housing Choice Voucher rental assistance program.

In addition to the rental assistance provided by the Housing Authority, case management and clinical services are available to the eligible participants by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), San Joaquin County Health Care Services, and community service groups throughout San Joaquin County.

The incentives for landlords include:

  • One-time leasing bonus – Maximum $2,000 per unit
  • Unit repairs – Maximum $1,000 per unit
  • Security deposit assistance – Maximum $2,000 per household
  • Rental application fees – Maximum $50 per applicant
  • Vacancy loss payments – Maximum $2,000 per unit
