Edison House

Edison House is a permanent supportive housing development designed to serve individuals experiencing homelessness who have mental health needs, including those with substance use challenges, with a dedicated focus on homeless veterans. Developed through a partnership between the Housing Authority of the County of San Joaquin (HACSJ), Delta Community Developers Corp., San Joaquin County Behavioral Health Services, the City of Stockton, and San Joaquin County Health Care Services Agency, the project reflects a coordinated regional effort to deliver long-term housing stability paired with on-site supportive services.

Located at 645 West Harding Way in Stockton, Edison House transforms a former commercial medical office building, originally constructed in 1952, into a modern residential community. The adaptive reuse project will create 33 affordable studio apartments, along with a two-bedroom on-site manager’s unit. Fourteen of the units are designated for homeless veterans and will be supported through HUD-VASH vouchers, which combine rental assistance with ongoing case management and clinical services.

Residents will have access to on-site behavioral health services, a community room, computer room, and supportive service offices designed to promote wellness, housing stability, and community integration. Edison House represents a significant step forward in addressing homelessness in San Joaquin County through solutions that are permanent, service-enriched, and built to last.
