Summary
In partnership with San Joaquin County Behavioral Health Services (SJCBHS), Delta Community Developers Corp. (DCDC) acquired Satellite Apartments using funds from the Behavioral Health Bridge Housing (BHBH) Program. The property, located at 530 N. Stanislaus Street in Stockton, consists of a two-story, 31-unit multi-family building covering approximately 14,604 square feet. Its primary mission is to provide transitional housing for individuals experiencing homelessness who also have serious behavioral health conditions, particularly those who have been deemed incompetent to stand trial as part of a misdemeanor diversion program, which has hindered their ability to access necessary services. Originally built in 1962, the building will undergo rehabilitation to improve energy efficiency. Resident services will be provided by the University of the Pacific through the Community Re-Entry Program.
Funding Partners
The Satellite Apartments project received $2.3 million in funding from the San Joaquin County Behavioral Health Bridge Housing (BHBH) Acquisition program, along with $4,3 million from the City of Stockton’s Homeless Housing, Assistance, and Prevention (HHAP) program.
